In the People magazine issue, Angelina and Brad denied rumors that their new twins were conceived through in vitro fertilizations.

Angelina was quoted saying, “If they had been conceived through IVF, we would have been happy to discuss it. But we have been fortunate never to have had fertility problems.”

The pair also recall the moment they found out they were expecting not only a fifth child but a sixth, saying they were “in shock and could not stop laughing.”

Pitt pitches into the conversation, saying that the twins are the spitting image of their proud parents. “Viv is proving to resemble Ange in spirit, attitude and physicality,” he gused, “And Knox, a bit of me.”

The pictures of the most sought-after twins in the world - Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt made its North American debut on People.com today. But insiders say that the negotiations took weeks and required a massive check.

According to sources that are part of the negotiations, the bidding war for the twins were more difficult compared to the previous Jolie-Pitt kids. One source said, “OK! (Magazine) was in a much better position than ever before to be in the game. Price per twin, you’re looking at about $7 million each.”

Another source claims that reports about Brad and Angelina turning down a higher bid from Ok! magazine was false. “That’s a lie. Negotiating ended and People won. There was no $20 million offer.”

People was awarded the North AMerican rights and Hello! for the international rights, exactly how the Shiloh pictures were dealt. The Associated Press reports that all the money received from these photos would be donated to a foundation created by Pitt and Jolie that largely focuses on helping children worldwide. One condition of the photo deal was that the winning magazine would have to agree to no longer refer to Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie as “Brangelina” EVER.

Jolie-Pitt Twins Photos Worth $14 million, insider Reveals

An insider involved in the negotiations revealed that the new Jolie-Pitt twins grabbed a US$14-million deal,  giving People magazine and British tabloid Hello! joint rights to publish the pictures of Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt. The People issue covering the twin babies would hit newsstands on Monday, said spokeswoman Nancy Valentino on Friday.

“We’re thrilled to be able to feature these pictures in People,” managing editor Larry Hackett said in a statement.

People and Hello! magazine would split the $14-million bill. The money would go to a foundation created by Jolie and Pitt, which focuses on helping children around the world.

Even before the twins were born, rumors circled on which magazine would cover the most sought-after babies in the history of Hollywood babies. So, it was no surprise if the couple chose  People and Hello!, which both covered Brad and Angelina’s first biological daughter last 2006. And yes, Getty Images remained the photographer and go-between.

Getty Images also took part this time around. In a statement, Getty co-founder and CEO Jonathan Klein said his company was “delighted that all proceeds from these stunning images will once again be donated entirely to charity.”

$10-15Millions for Jolie-Pitt Twins Pix Goes to Charity

Everyone knows that the money Angelina and Brad would be paid for the twins’ (Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline) photos would go straight to charity, but FoxNews reports the possibilities of which charity the couple would send the money to.

Roger Friedman writes that both People and Hello! magazines would get large tax breaks because they could list down the payment as donations to the Foundation. He also listed down the 2007 charity report made by the A-list couple saying, “The Pitts parked over $8.5 million in the charity, evenly divided between the two of them. Most of the $2.4 million that was distributed to charities included $1 million each to the Epidermolysis Foundation and Doctors without Borders. The Red Cross in Namibia, where baby Shiloh was born, got $137,035 although it’s unclear whether any of the local jounalists who lost their jobs during that time were ever compensated”

Friedman also made some guesses as to where the Jolie-Pitt foundation would send in its donations, which included  the children’s hospital where the babies were born, the families in New Orleans and the American Gulf Coast where Pitt has shown in interest in.

Voight gives Angie Fatherly Advice on Dealing with Privacy

August 1st, 2008, All Angelina Jolie, Angelina Jolie family, No comments

John Voight has reportedly criticized the paparazzi for their continuous pursuit of  his daughter Angelina Jolie and her growing family. Although Voight and Jolie has no normal father-daughter relationship and is still reportedly estranged, John Voight discussed the perils of fame at the Los Angeles premiere of Pineapple Express.

Voight told the Press Association, “[There] always has been [attention] - they have no privacy. It’s very difficult for them. This [premiere] is a thing where you show up and meet fans and it’s all very playful and nice. But when you’re just trying to do your daily chores and live your life and people are all over you trying to climb out of cars and windows, it’s not so healthy.”

Voight advised that the best way to deal with the attention was to keep “your feet on the ground in some way”.

I know Voight has the right to see his grandkids, but giving advices when it’s not really wanted seem sad. Hasn’t he forgotten that he called his own daughter having “mental problems” a few years back? Talk about protecting privacy. If Angelina really had mental problems, would it be a fatherly thing to announce it on public?

Angelina’s Tattoos Help Remove Social Stigma

BBC reports that the stigma regarding tattoos are dramatically reducing, especially now that famous people like Angelina Jolie and David Beckham are sporting “artsy” and elegant tattoos that they’re proud of.

According to the editor of “Skin Deep Magazine” Neil Dalleywater, the popularity of the once-maligned tattoo has increased due to celebrity culture.

“You do tend to see a lot more ink on pop stars and film stars in the media. The social stigma of tattoos is breaking down although you still come across it in places but it’s becoming far more socially acceptable. Things have changed really with the technological advances and the artists have really come on,” he said.

“People are realising you don’t have to just have a swallow or an anchor, you can have beautiful fine art,” said Mr Dalleywater.

The Skin Deep has organized and sponsored a three-day convention called “Tattoo Jam” wherein artists from 150 countries are attending. It would be held at the Venue Cymru, Llandudno, from Saturday to Monday. If only Angelina Jolie can leave the house, I’m sure she’d be there.

Jolie-Pitt Foundation Gives Grant to Armed Services YMCA

August 1st, 2008, All Angelina Jolie, Angelina & Brad News, Angelina humanitarian, No comments

The Jolie-Pitt foundation recently gave a $114,000 grant for the Armed Services YMCA of Lawton Fort Sill to fund the Operation Hero, a program for military kids age six to 12, who are experiencing difficulties in school due to frequent deployments of their families.

Operation Hero is a semester-long program that would provide after-school tutoring and mentoring assistance in a small group with certified teachers. The program accepts referrals from teachers, parents or school officials. Many children have experienced their father or mother being gone due to multiple deployments during the majority of these early, formative years.

Executive Director of ASYMCA Bill Vaughan says:

“Operation Hero facilitates a positive environment, encourages responsible behavior, and gets children back on track in school. We are delighted to bring this program to the children of Soldiers living in our community.

“The contribution from the Jolie-Pitt Foundation is a major effort to serve the children of our brave members of the United States Armed Services who are engaged in the current conflict. The new funds will allow our local Armed Services YMCA to provide educational support and counseling to military children who need and deserve it. Often, these young children are coping with long and frequent deployments, injury and even death of a parent serving in the US military.

“Operation Hero is specially designed for military children and the unique challenges they face having a parent overseas in harm’s way. It provides them with a support network of teachers and friends who are able to help them deal with anxiety, distractions from their academic work and high emotions that come with separation from a parent. The Armed Services YMCA is extremely proud to work with the Jolie-Pitt Foundation to enable military children and their families to succeed.  This donation will go a long way towards helping children affected by the stark realities of war.

The grant is part of a $1 million grant announced by the Jolie-Pitt Foundation to support children affected by the war. The donation is divided equally so that children in Iraq and the United States will benefit.

“The agency’s board of trustees identified this program during annual strategic planning. At that time the only thing holding the program launch was funding,” states Kim Thomas, board president. “Now because of this significant grant, we can begin the program in our community and carry it for a minimum of three years.”

Brad Pitt, born in Shawnee, continues to maintain ties to his home state. Lawton Fort Sill is the only community in Oklahoma to receive this three year grant. The Armed Services YMCA Lawton Fort Sill is Oklahoma’s leading nonprofit organization supporting junior enlisted personnel and their families. Contributions are encouraged and can be mailed or delivered to the Armed Services YMCA, 201 SW 4th Street, Lawton, OK 73501

Hello! Scores First Photos of Jolie-Pitt Twins

July 31st, 2008, All Angelina Jolie, Angelina & Brad News, No comments

Just like when Shiloh was born back in 2006, People magazine snagged the Northern American rights, while Hello! magazine was awarded the international rights of her first baby pictures, the new Jolie-Pitt twins would be featured in both magazines soon.

An insider said, “This is one of the publishing sensations of the decade - Brad and Angelina are the dream couple of the glossy magazine world and we expect to triple our circulation because of the public’s fascination and interest in the couple and their children.”

Hello! has brought its publication date forward to Monday August 4 to capitalise on the publishing coup.
